Learn how to make Ukrainian Easter Eggs, aka Pysanky, in this workshop. You will learn about the history and tradition of making Pysanky reaching back to pre-Christian Ukraine, followed by a demonstration of the hot wax resist a dye technique. You will then start your own Pysanky with the support of the instructor. Examples of patterns will be provided, but students are encouraged to experiment and create their own one of a kind Easter egg.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. A cold drawing method using wax crayons will be provided as an alternative for younger children.

Level 3 is a continuation of exploration in clay for both hand builders and wheel throwers. The instructor will help guide you to refine your skills, develop ideas and give constructive input. You will begin with inspiration and build ideas and concepts and learn to translate them to clay. Inspiration comes from many sources, for example: ideas that come from nature can be drawn and manipulated into clay form. From mark making and painting to design work, discover how it translates into ceramics

Art should be fun, light, and inspiring. In this series of classes, we'll learn to paint vivid landscapes inspired from the local Yukon scenery, learn basic acrylic painting techniques, color theory, how to get creative, and the elements and tools necessary to paint your own piece. We'll focuses on nature's rejuvenating and inspiring qualities while creating each a few masterpieces through out the art classes to take home. The classes will be fully instructed step by step with landscape artist Maya Rosenberg.

This year Meg and Maya are co-instructing our March Break Kids Camp. Both have an appreciation for art and children and will be combining visual arts and drama. Together everyone venture in the world of story telling; they will plot a story, paint a background set and create characters. At the end of the week, as the audience, parents are invited to watch the final performance.
