Open Ceramic Studio hours are great for individuals who want to practice what they have learned in a ceramic course and to hone their skills. There is no instruction provided during drop-in, participants are expected to have some experience to be able to work independently. Open studio nights are great for participants to learn from each other and connect. Studio techs are on-site to monitor and provide information about our studio and procedures should you have any questions. Participants are welcome to use our studio tools and equipment however any clay that is fired at Arts underground must be purchased from our studio.

Life Drawing Open Studio

Life-drawing open studio is available for anyone who wants to practice their drawing skills and observation of the human body; all levels are welcome, no need to be shy. We know drawing is not easy and that is why practice is important. We offer a private and comfortable setting to draw a variety of models and body types.
Every other Tuesday, 7pm – 9pm, Sheelah and Gorellaume volunteer their time to set up and host these events. They manage the length of poses starting with short poses and gradually lead towards longer stances.
When planning to attend these sessions, please arrive early. The doors usually open 15-20 minutes early so you can get yourself situated and comfortable. We start at 7pm sharp.
Please bring your own drawing utensils and paper, Arts underground provides seating, drawing boards, and clips. We also would like to encourage you to bring your own music and listen through earbuds if it helps you feel more at ease.
The price is only 5 dollars for one hour, and 10 dollars for 2 hours; all the proceeds go towards hiring the model. Prepaid cards are also available for purchase. Up to 6 hours per cards for $5/hour.

Print Club

By popular demand, Arts Underground is introducing its first screen-printing club. Print Club will run the first Saturday of every month, September through March (except for January). Arts Underground has the the equipment and space availble for you to use. This club is not just limited to screen-printing, but is also open to other printmakers. Those who block print or know how to use a prining press are more than welcome to join too.
If you are interested in joining our print club make sure you meet the following requirements:


Yes I know how to:
- coat, expose and reclaim a screen (Those wanting to screen print)
- use the necessary equipment safely
- have taken at least one screen printing workshop at Arts Underground or somewhere else equivalent to 10 hours. (those wanting to screen print)

If you are interested in Print Club but do not meet the requirements, no problem. We have a screen printing workshop available this fall. Check out our "current workshops" page for more info.

The Underachievers

Must be a Yukon Art Society member to attend; free with membership.

Hosted by Juliann Fraser, this art club for burgeoning painters began in September 2016 for the purpose of establishing a community hub for a hobby that is often done in isolation. Since then it has enjoyed regular attendance by a number of emerging artists who specialize in various mediums, including watercolour, acrylic, oil, charcoal, pastels, and has expanded to include plein air outings organized by its members. Bring your own tools  supplies and creative spirit; equipment such as easels and boards are provided for use by Arts Underground.
