Programs may take many forms, including multi-week courses, weekend or single-day workshops, open studios, one-time talks, after school programs, and week-long kids' camps. Examples of subjects taught include:
- Ceramics and pottery
- Acrylic, oil, and watercolour painting
- Drawing, including life drawing
- Mixed media
- Fused glass
- Colour theory
Adult multi-week workshops and kids' after school programs are offered in two fall intakes, generally beginning in September and late October/early November, and in the winter and spring, beginning in January and late March/early April, respectively. Full week kids' camps are offered over Spring Break and during the summer. Arts Underground also runs an artist residency program during the summer months. Weekend or single-day workshops and talks may take place at any time throughout the year, and open studio programs run year round.
