Whether you are building your pottery skill set or looking for a new experience, this class will offer you an art escape with clay. You will create a uniquely yours, functional keepsake and learn techniques to expand your own clay practice.

Using a variety of slab building techniques and studio tools including the slab roller, you create a Planter and Saucer. Finish your pot with colour underglaze techniques to personalize your style or pick from our in house glaze test tile wall.

Our class goal is to make one planter and matching plant saucer. You build, create your plant pot, and the rest will be completed for you including firing and glazing. Your new plant home will be ready for pick up in approx 4 weeks after class. Arts Underground will contact you when completed and ready for pick up during regular business hours

Notes about this workshop

  • Arts Underground continues to require masking and proof of vaccination for individuals taking part in workshops in the studio. For individuals visiting only the store and galleries, we will still require masks at all times, but proof of vaccination in this instance will not be required. The Government of Yukon has authorized businesses and non-profits to establish their own rules regarding masking and proof of vaccination.

The reason for proof of vaccination in the Studio is that Studio participants will be working in close quarters in an area that is not optimally ventilated. Exceptions to the rules are the now widely publicized medical conditions. We hope you will understand and accept our desire to keep both staff and visitors safe during the pandemic.

  • Supplies are included.
