This intensive colour workshop is intended for participants with some painting experience.

Colour is the most relative medium in art. This Colour Theory workshop will focus on the characteristics of colour, in particular the way colours interact with and affect each other. Using a number of exercises first with coloured paper, and then with paint, participants will learn how to create the illusion of both transparency and lustre in their paintings. They will then use these skills to create two still life paintings.

Participants will bring their own paints and paintbrushes to this workshop, so skills can be developed in your own medium (please note: oil painters must use paints without spirits or mediums other than linseed or walnut oil, due to odor). All other supplies will be provided.
