In this 2-day workshop, make either a simple and beautiful copper pendant or pair of earrings with artist Glenn Piwowar. On day one, we’ll practice designing, cutting/shaping the material, texturing it, annealing (with a propane torch), learning to “pickle" and clean the workpiece. By the end of the first evening, students will begin the patina process, allowing the rich blue or green finish to develop overnight. During the second evening, students will protect the patina by applying spray fixative to preserve it. Further embellish your piece with hand-made copper rivets, additional copper elements (including fire patina), copper jump rings, and finish it off with a simple necklace cord or earring hooks.
