Wednesday, March 31 | 10am – 2pm
$110/person | supplies included
Ages 14+ | maximum 6 participants (pre-registration required)

Please note that we are unable to offer refunds on workshops and programming.

Whether you are building your pottery skill set or looking for a new experience, this class will offer you an art escape with clay. You will create a uniquely yours, functional keepsake and learn techniques to expand your own practice.

We’ll use a variety of studio tools including the slab roller to design your own one-of-a-kind planter and saucer. Finish your pot with colour underglaze techniques to personalize your style.

Our goal is to make one planter and matching plant saucer - you build and decorate your piece, and the rest will be completed for you including firing and clear glazing. Your work will be completed and ready for pick up approximately 3 weeks after the class.

Notes about this workshop

  • Please note clay is a unique material. It has risks of cracking or breaking during the process and may not come out of the kiln as planned. However your new skills will help you to make more exciting pottery projects in the future.

  • The process of drying, firing, and glazing ceramics requires some time and patience, especially in a busy volunteer-run studio. Because of this, it may take up to 3 weeks for your finished work to be ready for pickup. We will contact you when your pieces are ready!

  • Workshop registration fees are non-refundable

  • In accordance with Government of Yukon regulations, masks are mandatory for all participants who are able to wear them. To learn more about how we're staying safe in our studio, visit www.artsunderground.ca/covid-19
