Ages 12+ Anyone age 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult.

Arts Underground and the Yukon Wildlife Preserve are teaming up! Join Artist Esther Bordet for an introductory class on sketching the wildlife at the preserve. The workshop will focus on timed sketching exercises, observational drawing techniques, and how to simplify complicated anatomy.

At the end of the class students are encouraged to take their time exploring the rest of the preserve at their leisure.

Please bring a pencil, pencil sharpener, your favourite pens, and a sketchbook. Art supplies can also be purchased from Underground Art Supplies either in person or in our online store

Recommended supplies:

  • A folding stool (suggested) or chair if you don't want to sit on the ground

  • A sketchbook

  • Pencil

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Eraser (kneaded suggested but not required)

  • Fine line black pen or marker

  • Lunch or snacks, sunscreen, rain gear, and warm layers as required by the weather

Everyone should arrive 10 minutes before the class starts to meet up with the instructor and attend a brief safety orientation from staff at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve.
