Join botanical artist, Misha Donohoe, and create a painting from life with your own rose hip specimen. This easy-to-follow three-part workshop will guide you through three foundational techniques used in botanical illustration: measured drawing, colour-matching, and watercolour washes. If you have beginner-to-intermediate skills in drawing and watercolour, this workshop is for you. With Misha's support, you will build your skills and learn to tackle simple subjects with confidence.

Week One: This week we will focus on observation and measured drawing in graphite, and will cover methods to transfer drawings to watercolour paper.

Week Two: In week two we will review colour mixing and matching in watercolour and begin building form with light watercolour washes. We will also have an opportunity to try masking techniques to preserve highlights and fine details.

Week Three: We will continue building form with watercolour washes and add detail with dry-brush techniques. We will also have an opportunity to accentuate highlights and refine the details.
