From the Government of Yukon

Dear Artists, Makers and Retailers,

After 20 years, we have decided to retire the Created in the Yukon program and will no longer be offering the printed bags, stickers and price tags. This decision has been made in line with local and global responsibilities to reduce environmental impacts of packaging, and it complies with the Yukon government ban on single use bags. We also recognize that many artists and businesses now have their own unique and effective methods for marketing themselves.

The Created in the Yukon icon will however remain available on our website for individuals and businesses to use if they wish, and at their own expense. Usage standards for the icon are outlined in guidelines available on the website. The remaining Created in the Yukon bags, stickers and tags will be distributed through Arts Underground in Whitehorse until they are gone. To share the last of the stock fairly amongst the community, the following limits are suggested:

Artists:
50 handle bags per size (small and large)
100 tags per size (small and large)

Retailers:
100 handle bags per size (small and large)
200 tags per size (small and large)

There are no order limits on flat bags per size (small, medium and large) or on stickers.

Artists, makers and retailers can order online. Please note that orders require 48 hours notice to allow time to prepare and be ready for pick up.

Looking forward, a key action in the new Yukon strategy, Creative Potential: Advancing the Yukon’s Creative and Cultural Industries is to explore options to update branding and promotion for Yukon’s creative and cultural industries. This work will be underway over the next two years.

Thank you for participating in Created in the Yukon and please feel free to contact me with any questions,
