Do you “heart” pottery? Join ceramicist Roma Dobrowolsky for this two-day workshop and learn to construct three-dimensional clay hearts! We’ll learn two simple hand building techniques - first, we’ll construct a larger heart using a simple box mold made out of a cardboard box and pantyhose. Next, we’ll use a foam block to make smaller three-dimensional hearts.
Our goal is to make one large clay heart and a few smaller ones - you will build and glaze your pieces. Your work will be fired and ready for pick up approximately 3 weeks after the class. Your work will be completed and ready for pick up approximately 3 weeks after the class.
Notes about this workshop
Please note clay is a unique material. It has risks of cracking or breaking during the process and may not come out of the kiln as planned. However your new skills will help you to make more exciting pottery projects in the future.
The process of drying, firing, and glazing ceramics requires some time and patience, especially in a busy volunteer-run studio. Because of this, it may take several weeks for your finished work to be ready for pickup. We will contact you when your pieces are ready!
Workshop registration fees are non-refundable
In accordance with Government of Yukon regulations, masks are mandatory for all participants who are able to wear them. To learn more about how we're staying safe in our studio, visit www.artsunderground.ca/covid-19
