Come play in the clay and build a fairy house for your garden! In this two-session class, you and your child will learn ceramic hand building techniques including coil, pinch pot, extruder and slab techniques. In the first session, you will work together to design and build a fairy house that will look like a hollow log or big mushroom with windows, doors, and flowers.
In the second class, we’ll decorate the fairy houses with colourful glazes and underglazes. Your pieces will then be fired in the kiln and ready for pick up a few weeks after the class is complete.
Notes about this workshop
Please note clay is a unique material. It has risks of cracking or breaking during the process and may not come out of the kiln as planned. However your new skills will help you to make more exciting pottery projects in the future.
The process of drying, firing, and glazing ceramics requires some time and patience, especially in a busy volunteer-run studio. Because of this, it may take several weeks for your finished work to be ready for pickup. We will contact you when your pieces are ready!
Workshop registration fees are non-refundable
