Life Nectar

EDGE GALLERY
October 4 - 26, 2024
Opening Reception: October 4, 5-7pm

Life Nectar pays homage to our sacral chakra, tuning into our authentic selves with the flow and fluidity of water. As we dive deeper into ourselves, we recognize the interconnectedness of all beings. That we beat at the same rhythm of the lands we call home. Recognizing this connection is vital for the preservation of our life force.

From the water we rose, to the lands we return.

As I’ve doven deeper into my personal experience in this reality, the land and waters have spoken more and more to me. Slowing down and listening, thesebodies of work came through to me. Witnessing the interconnectedness of humans with the moss, the flowers, the trees has strengthened my connection to Spirit. It is from a place of love and healing that these creations arose. Healing ourselves heals the land, we are one in the same.

ASHLEY SWINTON

Native to the west coast of BC, Ashley found home under a canopy of Yukon spruce
trees and cascading mountains many moons ago. Ashley Swinton is 29 and lives on
the traditional territory of the Carcross/Tagish nations. She is an artist using
analogue photography to explore her intimate connection with the land while
honoring the feminine form. The concepts she creates are intended to inspire
people to always come from a place of love and connect further with the land
round them. Her art is a result of her connection with the natural world - especially water, the element we all came from.
