Emerald: Celebrating 55 Years of the Yukon Art Society
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
The "emerald anniversary" refers to the 55th anniversary, with emeralds being the traditional gift for this milestone. Emeralds are believed to represent renewal, growth, and prosperity.
In 2025, the Yukon Art Society is celebrating its 55th anniversary, as well as the 20th anniversary of Arts Underground. For this special celebration exhibition, Yukon Art Society Members are invited to submit works that they feel best represent their artistic practice, or are proud of.
This exhibition will be on view in both the Focus and Edge galleries from July 4 - 26.
Artists are invited to bring the following:
Two-Dimensional Work
One large piece (bigger than 20”x20”)
Up to two medium pieces (10”x10” - 20”x20”)
Up to three pieces smaller than 10”x10”
Three-Dimensional Work
Up to two large pieces (must be able to fit on a plinth, max. 2’x2’)
Up to three smaller pieces (ie. cups, bowls, jewellery, clothing items)
If you’re unsure if your piece would fit, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
The deadline to submit work for this exhibition is Saturday, June 28. Pieces must be at the gallery on or before this date to be included in the exhibition. All work will be reviewed by the curator before display to ensure it meets all our display guidelines and is ready to be hung.
All work intended to be hung on the wall must be framed, mounted on a panel, or have appropriate hanging hardware. Loose prints, paintings etc. will not be accepted. If your piece has special hanging instructions, please include them in your form submission.
All work must be available for sale and purchases will leave the gallery at the end of the exhibition. When pricing your work, please note that the Yukon Art Society retains a 35% commission on all artwork sales. The curator reserves the right to re-price pieces that are not in line with market value and pricing.
Please ensure your work is labelled, including title, price, artist name and medium. Artists are encouraged to fill out the following form with information about their pieces: Exhibition Submission Form
To participate in this members’ exhibition, you must be registered for a 2024-25 All Access Membership, which can be purchased here.

Deadline
Please drop off your pieces by Saturday, June 28 @ 4pm.
The exhibition will be on display from July 4 - 26, with work also available to view and purchase in our online store. An opening reception will be held from 5-7pm on July 4 and we hope you will attend.
