Under Yukon Skies

FOCUS GALLERY
July 5 - 27, 2024
Opening Reception: July 5, 5-7pm

The pandemic lockdowns left many people wondering what to do with their enforced spare time. A friend challenged me to pass the time by doing a small watercolour painting every day. The first day was March 21, 2020, and after more than four years, this has resulted in more than 1500 paintings.

Living in the Yukon, finding subject matter has not been an issue. As Robert Service said, “There's the land. (Have you seen it?)” Mountains, lakes, forests, sunrises and sunsets, northern lights… all contribute to the grandeur of this amazing land.

The Yukon comprises the traditional territories of the 14 Yukon First Nations. This exhibit is a tribute to this amazing landscape.
